  • The Last Day to Request August 2026 Regents ExaminationsÌýis Friday, July 10, 2026. ÌýAugust Regents Examinations will be administered on August 18 and 19, 2026. For more information on assessments, see the Office of Assessment website and the Regents Examination Schedule.
  • The Concussion Management and Awareness Act requires that consent forms (required for participation in interscholastic athletics) contain information on concussions and/or reference how to obtain information on concussions from the 91ÉçÇø and NYSDOH websites.   • Shipment of Examination Materials for the August 2026 Regents Exam periodÌýwill be arriving at schools in early to mid-August. Please ensure that school staff are available to receive these materials upon delivery. For more information on the anticipated delivery of these materials, see the Office of Assessment website and the Regents Examination Schedule.
  • All Data (K-12 Assessments, Enrollment, Demographics, Graduation Rate, etc.) is due in the Student Information Repository System (SIRS) by August 21, 2026. Religious and independent schools must contract with a Regional Information Center (RIC) to report data in SIRS. Any data reported in SIRS will be used to populate the Comprehensive Information Report (CIR) and will be used for Mandated Services Aid (MSA) & Comprehensive Attendance Policy (CAP) application submission.

  • Y9 Mathematics, Science, & Technology (MST) Teacher Salary Reimbursement Grant –
    • The MST application was released on 7/6/2026.Ìý This grant cycle will be a portal-only submission process.
    • Applicants must submit claims by August 1st annually (NYS Statute Deadline). Because the statutory application deadline of August 1, 2026, falls on a Saturday, the deadline for submitting the Year 9 MST application through the was extended through Monday, August 3, 2026.Ìý
    • Y9 Applicants will be receiving an update regarding the workbook-upload window where applicants may log back on to their Y9 applicant to 1) upload their teacher workbooks and/or 2) submit/update their CIP code.Ìý Stay tuned! ÌýÌý

  • (required as part of the 2026-27 Consolidated Application for ESSA-Funded Programs) – The 2026-27 Consolidated Application for ESSA-Funded Programs launched in May 2026 and can be found on the Office of ESSA-Funded Programs’ website. LEAs must provide private schools with opportunities for timely and meaningful consultation prior to completion of the Written Affirmation of LEA Consultation with Private School Officials Form. Consultation must address all topics identified on the form and MUST be completed by the public-school official in consultation with private school officials. The deadline for LEAs to submit the 2026-27 Consolidated Application for ESSA-Funded Programs, including the Written Affirmation of LEA Consultation with Private School Officials Form to 91ÉçÇø is August 31, 2026.Ìý There are new resources available on the ESSA-Funded Program’s website for LEAs related to Equitable Services Consultation with private schools.
Summer/Fall 2026
  • Religious and Independent School Consultation Regarding Substantial Equivalency (SE) Local School Authority (LSA) Survey – Religious and independent schools should work with their LSA to report their pathway and to ensure they have the correct address for each site. If the school has a BEDS/SED code, it should also ensure that school site addresses are up-to-date in to prevent any disruption of services. BEDS Change of Address forms can be found on the BEDS Code Information website.
  • Nonpublic School Safety Equipment (NPSE) Grant – The multi-year NPSE application will be released late Summer 2026.Ìý This will be a portal-only submission process and the purchase window for the NPSE grant aligns with the calendar year.Ìý The application deadline is January 2027 with a specific date to be determined in the fall.
  • Art & Music Teacher Salary (AMTS) Reimbursement Grant – The Y3 AMTS application will be released Fall 2026.Ìý This will be a portal-only submission process. The AMTS grant application deadline is currently under review and will be adjusted based on date of launch.
Early September 2026
  • Review of Students’ Immunizations – Student immunizations must be reviewed at the start of each school year. Students who are not in compliance within 14 days of the start of the school year may not continue to attend school until they meet the immunization requirements. This period may be extended up to 30 days for students coming from out of state or out of the country, provided they demonstrate a good faith effort to comply. See the Also see 91ÉçÇøâ€™s Immunization Guidelines for Schools which provides guidance to schools.

Questions on immunizations may be directed to the NYS Bureau of Immunizations: osas@health.ny.gov. Questions on school implementation of the requirements may be directed to the 91ÉçÇø Office of Student Support Services at StudentSupportServices@nysed.gov.

Schools must sign up for the , or for schools located in New York City, the . Public Health Law requires healthcare providers to report all immunizations administered to persons less than 19 years of age, along with the person’s immunization histories to either NYSIIS or CIR. Schools can access student immunization records and track compliance in either system.Ìý

  • Grades 3-8 English Language Arts and Mathematics Tests and Grades 5 and 8 Science Tests Requesting Memo – This memo provides information concerning procedures for requesting, shipping, and storing materials for the 2027 Grades 3-8 English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics Tests and the Grades 5 and 8 Science Tests.   • BEDS Code Applications – Applications for new BEDS codes must be received and completed by mid-December for BEDS codes to be effective for the 2026-2027 school year. Applications can be found on ORISS’ BEDS Code Information website.

Please note that if a school’s address has changed and the new site is located in a different school district, the school will need a new BEDS code. New BEDS codes can only be assigned for the 2026–2027 school year if complete applications are received by mid-December. BEDS Change of Address forms can also be found on the BEDS Code Information website.

Please also note, applications for new BEDS codes may continue to be submitted by an approved private school serving students with disabilities year-round after the mid-December due date.

  • WIDA ACCESS and WIDA Alternate ACCESS testing –

New York will begin administering new English Language Proficiency assessments in the 2026-2027 School Year. The WIDA ACCESS and WIDA Alternate ACCESS test window will be Monday, February 1 – Friday, April 9, 2027. The WIDA ACCESS will be a computer-based assessment with a paper-based version for schools who have a religious exemption. Procedures for requesting will be forthcoming.   • June Regents Examination Requesting Memo – This is sent out in mid/late-February. This memo provides information on how to order and store Regents exams. It also provides information about the online requesting system deadlines. For more information on assessments, please go to the ÌýOffice of State Assessment website.
  • Scholarships for Academic Excellence (SAE) – The Scholarships for Academic Excellence (SAE) provide awards to high school students who rank as the top student(s) in their respective high school at the end of their junior year. These scholarships support attendance at an institution of higher education located in New York State. All SAE applications must be submitted electronically through . This online process replaces the paper form, improving efficiency and streamlining the management of this important scholarship program for students.

  • Health Services – Education Law 912 requires school districts in New York State to provide resident students attending religious and independent schools with any/all the same health and welfare services available to students attending schools in the district. It is strongly recommended that the religious or independent school administration communicate with the school district of location’s superintendent regarding the best time to submit the written request for health services. The request for health services should specify exactly what services are being requested. It is recommended that such requests be reviewed annually.

  • June Regents Examinations Administration Memo – This memo is sent in late May/early June, containing essential information about the administration of the upcoming June Regents examinations. For more information on assessments, please go to the Office of State Assessment website.

  • Occupational Education Requests must be submitted by June 1st. In order to arrange for participation in an occupational education program, the parent of a religious or independent school pupil must file a written request with the board of education of the district in which the pupil resides by June 1st. The administrator of a religious or independent school may receive and forward the requests for the parents to the board of education. For more information, please go to Religious and Independent School Handbook (Dual Enrollment Programs).
  • Gifted Education Requests must be submitted by June 1st. A parent should apply for dual enrollment services to the district of residence. Requests for participation must be filed with the board of education of the district of residence on or before June 1st preceding the school year for which the request is being made. For more information, please go to Religious and Independent School Handbook (Dual Enrollment Programs).
  • Textbook Loan Requests – Under Section 701 of New York State Education Law, school districts may establish a June 1st deadline for receiving textbook loan requests for the following school year, requiring parents of religious and independent school students to submit written requests by this date. Religious and independent school administrators are responsible for providing necessary book lists to parents in a timely manner, and they may optionally collect and submit these requests on behalf of parents. For students enrolling after June 1st, parents or guardians may submit written requests within 30 days of enrollment.   • Regents – Schools administering Regents Examinations must submit their answer sheets to their Regional Information Center (RIC)/scanning center. Contact your RIC for specific due dates. Visit the Office of State Assessment’s website for information.
